This children's cowl is knitted in one-piece, using both circular (for the neck piece) and two needles for the leaves. I used Debbie Bliss Blue Faced Leicester Aran, but other Aran (10ply) wools would work well. It takes approximately 125g of wool. The neck section has a simple cable stitch.
The cowl pulls on very easily, and is very cosy. I think most children would love it, and you could posh it up by sewing a bead on the tip of each leaf. I was inspired by the beautiful flower fairy books of Cicely Mary Barker.
I am working on an adult version, which will appear soon.

I have always liked making things, and although I have been knitting a lot recently, I also like sewing and other crafts.
I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school, and have partly got back into making things because my children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
