Pattern Description:

- it's a very easy and quick knit
- if you use variegated yarn it will form a very fashionable chevron pattern
- it can be easily modified for bigger or smaller versions
- before you start the project, knit a sample with your yarn and needles, so you'll know how many sts to cast on to get the width you desire
- you don't need to worry about the yarn; if you notice you're running out, you can stop knitting without having to rip a huge part of your work (only 2-row repeat!)
- it's unisex: finished item is great for both men and women
- works great with all types of yarn, from lace to bulky

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

this pattern can be easily modified to achieve the size of a shawl you want. The shawls from the photos measure about 190x50 cm (and all used over 1000 yards of yarn)
the pattern is knitted over a multiple of 15 sts +9 and has a two-row vertical repeat - so you can stop knitting at almost any point without worrying about the yarn.

yarn: this shawl can be knit with any type of yarn, depending on the result you want to achieve. Laceweight yarns will make it a light, all-year shawl; bulkier types will be perfect for winter version. The amount of yarn will also vary depending on the size you want to get

Easy lace shawl May 7, 2013

This beautiful lace shawl pattern would make a great project for beginner lace knitters. Once you know how to do SSK, YO & K2tog, the pattern flows along with only a 2 row repeat. The multicolor Patons Lace yarn comes in several beautiful colors that have long runs of color that keep the project from becoming boring. One skein will do a scarf but you will need two skeins for the shawl, depending on the width.

This was my first big knitting project. I have knitted granny squares and toy clothes but nothing with a pattern to follow.
At first it took me a few goes to get the pattern right. But after some falsue starts I got into the swing of things. The pattern creator was so helpful and gave me some advice on the number of stiches. I used 69 stiches and 200g of wool. I didn't block the final work as he pattern seems to be fine without it and the scarf sits nicely.
