Pattern Description:

We use handspun wool to knit this little sack hat. The brim stays flat on the forehead, and the top of the hat ties off in a knot. It is a super stretchy hat, very soft, and can be propped to stand up, or allowed to flop over.

With Manos you will need one skein of wool for the smaller sizes, and two skeins for the larger sizes.

Our Knoodle Sack Hat is a perfect newborn photography prop. It can also be made it in larger sizes for older babies and children.


14 stitches = 4 inches


  • Yarn
  • US 9 - 5.5 mm circular needles
  • US 9 - 5.5 mm DPNs

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch marker
  • tapestry needle

168 yards of Bulky weight
