Pattern Description:
These gloves were inspired by Eastern henna body painting traditions. In my research, I was fascinated by the traditions that cherished brides and helped give rest to new mothers.
The gloves are knit flat with two distinct panels which are seamed on the thumb side. The top panel is the stockinette color work pattern and the bottom panel is (K2 P2) rib pattern.
Gauge:
8 stitches = 1" (2.5cm) in stockinette stitch
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- One size to fit up to 8.5" (21.5cm) around; 13" (33cm) long
Materials:
- Yarn: Color A: Knit Picks Palette [100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 231yd/50g]; Color: Cornmeal. 2 skeins. Color B: Knit Picks Palette; Color: Marsala. 1 skein.
- Needles: US3 (3.25mm) straight needles

- A stitch marker to divide panels
- A tapestry needle
