Pattern Description:

Cold head? Not for much longer! Wrap yourself in a suckered death-grip of warmth to keep that cold at bay!

Pattern should stretch to fit most head sizes, but is definitely for teens/adult sized noggins...I'm working on a children's size (as well as a worsted weight version!), and when I add it to the pattern (for a final, total price of $4.99) everyone who purchased it before that point will get it as well! So, if you buy if now, you save a full dollar and don't miss out on any of the fun!

All my patterns come with full-support - if you aren't sure what I mean, please by all means email me! I love getting emails, and I love helping out!

Pattern will come with permission to sell finished items - just please don't claim that you made the pattern. A certain elder god will be very displeased if you do.

Now remember kids, kitties and elder squid gods are pretty epic in their own right, but even better together!

The hat in the pictures, version 1.0 was donated to Desert Bus 5. Details here:http://desertbus.org/silent-auction-item/36/

Gauge:

2 - 3 stitches for inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Should fit most adults and teens. Child sizes to come soon, along with worsted weight adaptation!

Materials:

  • ~ 180 yards super chunky yarn, such as Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (Sample was knit out of this!)
  • Small amount of contrasting yarn in same weight (if desired)

You Will Also Need:

  • Set of 5 US # 11 double pointed needles (8.0 mm metric)
  • 1 Stitch marker
  • Waste yarn (in a contrasting colour, smooth yarns work best)
  • Darning needle
  • 4 buttons (for making the tentacle scarf detachable)
  • 2 eyes (I had some leather coloured buttons painted)
  • Sewing needle
  • Sewing thread (in a colour that matches the main colour of the hat)
  • Optional: 16 inch US #11 circular needle (8.0 mm) Crochet hook (on the thicker side works best, exact size isn't really important)

I'm an artisan located in Victoria, BC while I pursue my biochemistry/geology degree. While I'm pretty busy with classes and homework, I can't seem to stop crafting so I figured I might as well help support my educational endeavors.

I knit, crochet, weave, felt, spin...and well, just about everything :P
