Pattern Description:

This is a very simple lace pattern using big needles so it's an incredibly quick, but impressive, knit. Perfect gift material! The yarn used is my handspun baby camel and silk. It's a lovely choice if you're a handspinner, baby camel down is much cheaper than cashmere but feels just as soft. I've recommended a commercially available yarn, Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran as a perfectly suitable substitute though.

This is suitable for a beginner knitter looking for a challenge. You will need to be able to work in the round on a circular needle and use the lace stitches ssk and yo ("slip slip knit" and "yarn over").

15 stitches and 20 rows = 4" in stocking stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 9" x 54"

  • Yarn: Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran, 3 skeins = 195m in total. Needles: 6mm / US 10 60cm circular needle

  • one stitch marker
