Basic Skills Necessary:

Pattern Description:

Mosaic knitting is the simplest form of color works. It's simply carrying one yarn per round while the other yarn waits at the beginning of the round. Stitches are slipped throughout to create the spectrum of color. It's just that simple! When variegated yarn is used, it creates a complex appearing pattern.

Gauge:

8.25 sts and 8.75 rows = 1"
33 sts and 35 rows = 10cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • baby, child and adult sizes
  • fits up to 18.5 (20, 22.5)" head circumference

Materials:

  • 190 yds sport weight yarn in a solid color
  • 190 yds sport weight yarn in a variegated color

You Will Also Need:

  • US size 2, 16" circular needles
  • US size 4, 16" circular needles
  • US size 4 extra needle for bind off

Suggested yarn:

190 yards of Sport weight
