Basic Skills Necessary:

  • working in the round, simple increases and decreases and finishing

Pattern Description:

Jewel Floats is worked in the round from the bottom up. The pattern is achieved by slipping stitches to create floats on the Stocking stitch ground and is perfect for showing off variegated yarns.

Gauge:

20 sts and 32 rnds = 4in / 10cm in Body slip stitch pattern using 4mm (US6) needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 16 (17 1/2, 19 1/4, 20 3/4, 22 1/2) in / 40.5 (44.5, 49, 53, 57) cm brim circumference; sample shown in size 20 3/4 in.

Materials:

  • Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted (225 yds / 206m / 4oz / 114g) in #901, Baltic Sea, 1 skein

You Will Also Need:

  • 3.5mm (US 4) set of dpns or a short circular needle 4mm (US 6) set of dpns or a short circular needle Stitch markers and tapestry needle
