This would be a great project for new knitters wanting to branch out from basic garter and stockinette (stocking) knitting. There are yarn overs and knit 2 togethers to spice things up. The cowl is worked from the bottom up. The result was a drapey cowl. This cowl was knit on the fly to use up a couple of skeins of yarn I had in my stash. I did a swatch to guide how many stitches I should cast on. I encourage you to do a swatch to make sure that casting on 100 stitches in your chosen yarn will be wide enough to fit over your head. If not, add more stitches in multiples of 5.
Play with it and have fun!
