Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round, stranded knitting with two colors, reading a chart, and Kitchener stitch.

Pattern Description:

Travel back in time when you wear the Inca Cat Mittens. Garment textiles from the Incan Empire from Peru provide the inspiration the motifs on this hat. The cat and the border pattern come from a garment panel woven while the design on the palm was loosely adapted from a poncho.

Inca cat mittens are traditional colorwork mittens with a two color ribbing and a peasant thumb.The pattern instructions are clear and easy to work, taking all the stress out of knitting colorwork mittens. The pattern features detailed written instructions, photos, and complete charts.

There is a matching hat pattern.
