Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit
  • purl
  • knit in the round
  • k2tog

Pattern Description:

This is an easy and fun 2 color pattern.
Choose 2 balls of different variegated colors,
cast on, and be prepared to be mesmerized by
what happens. Watching the colors shift and change
between your needles will keep you staying up
way past midnight with the words "just one more row".
After the first hat you'll want to try all the color choices.
This hat is knit in the round starting at the bottom and working to the I-cord loop at the top.

18 sts = 4" in stockinette st.

  • Worsted Wt. yarn recommended.
  • Sample uses: Poems Silk by Wisdom Yarns, 70% wool, 30% silk, 50 gr/109 yds,
  • Color A - 1 ball of #783,
  • Color B - 1 ball of #737
  • 16" circular in US8 and 1 set of 5 double pointed Bamboo needles in US9. The bamboo are less slick which you will want as you close the top. You will want to keep your knitting relaxed as 2 color knitting can sometimes pull in. Go 1 - 2 needle sizes larger if you tend towards a tighter tension.

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle
