I designed this little bonnet because I really wanted a bonnet with a classic design and couldn't find any patterns out there. It was also close to Easter so I decided to make it a bunny bonnet. Ears can be made smaller or longer, can be a lamb, bunny, anything you want it to be. Perfect for those first photographs.
The construction is easy because the majority of the hat is knit back and forth on straight needles and then joined in the round for the shaping of the back and finishing the decorative edge to match.
Ears can be knit flat on straight needles, back and forth. Or you can knit them in the round for a fuller look. There are so many options!!
17 sts and 23 rows per 4 inches (10.2 cm) in stockinette stitch
