House of Mirrors

from Handmade by Stefanie
(6) Name: 'Knitting : House of Mirrors
House of Mirrors
House of Mirrors
House of Mirrors

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • read charts
  • knit in the round
  • increase
  • backwards loop CO
  • cable
  • twisted stitches

Pattern Description:

The House of Mirrors Fingerless Gloves have a twisted-stitch panel amidst a sea of stockinette. From row to row, you will shift your stitches from knit to purl and vice versa.

Like many things you'll see at the circus, these mitts are not what they seem! Sure, the cables look intricate, but I actually found this project to be faster and easier to knit than the socks (figure that!). You'll have to pay attention as you work from a non-repeating chart, but once you leave the house of mirrors, the results will be worth it.

26 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 61/2 " (7", 71/2 ") circumference unstretched

  • 150-274 yards sport weight yarn (I used The Wool Dispensary Useful Restorative in Sword Swallower)
  • US #2 DPN's

You Will Also Need:

  • cable needle
