Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Before tackling gloves you should have some experience of knitting fingering weight yarn in the round - otherwise this is a pretty easy gloves pattern!

Pattern Description:

An easy to knit glove pattern, with a design that will appeal to both men and women. The elastic rib pattern, with some negative ease for each size, will ensure the perfect fit and feel extremely comfortable.

30 sts x 42 rnds = 10x10cm / 4x4" in stocking stitch with larger needle size

45 sts x 37 rnds = 10x10cm / 4x4" in (k1tbl, p1) rep ribbing with larger needle size

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Women's XS, Women's S, Women's M, Women's L/Men's S, Men's M, Men's L and Men's XL for hands with circumference above thumb of 17, 18, 19, 20.5, 21.5, 23, 24cm / 6 3/4, 7, 7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2, 9, 9 1/2". All sizes have about 2-3cm / 1" negative ease, as the rib pattern is so very stretchy. If you are between sizes, choose the larger one, since it will still be snug!

  • Fingering weight yarn, such as Patons Diploma Gold 4-ply: 100g (368m/402yards) (shade shown in picture: #4301)
  • 1 set of 2.5mm/US11/2 dpns (or any other needles that knit to the correct tension and can be used for knitting in the round)
  • 1 set of 2.25mm/US1 dpns (or 0.25mm smaller than main needle size)
