Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic lace knitting skills

Pattern Description:

This project takes the entire skein and I am not kidding!
You absolutely have to make gauge, or risk needing a second skein.

I wanted to add: If you have dreadlocks, or other ways that will make your hair "thicker", you may want to cast on more stitches for this hat, or use a stretchier yarn. This hat is knitted in bamboo and will not stretch overly much. Just keep that in mind. The pattern repeat is over 24 stitches, this should help. ;)

Fun, lacy, springtime hat. Is the weather getting warmer? Are you living in a warm climate to begin with? You do not have to live without hats. Try this cute bamboo hat. Super airy and fun to wear.
The bamboo has wonderful drape, is a renewable resource, and would make a great hat for your vegan friends, or for your vegan self (or try cotton/hemp, could be replaced with silk, if you're not vegan.)

Gauge:

6 stitches and 8 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Fits average woman's head

Materials:

  • Needles size US 5 (3,75mm)

Suggested yarn:

110 yards of DK weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Be sweet bamboo
