Kira K Designs is a line of original knitting and crochet patterns with a streamlined and eminently wearable aesthetic. Research on historical clothing, which Kira did during her former career as a theatrical costume designer, is a strong influence on her design sense, and many patterns reference styles from the 1920s through the 1960s. Kira's family history of Danish Modern furniture design is also an important influence on her patterns, resulting in garments and accessories with clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear.
I teach classes around the San Francisco Bay Area. See upcoming classes at www.kirakdesigns.com/Classes.htm. I am also available for private lessons by appointment.

I like to design projects that are knit seamlessly for a few reasons: a
smoother finished project, no need to spend time sewing up, and because it makes a project that is obviously handmade. This last point often leads me to the addition of details that spiral around the knitted piece in a way that highlights the seamlessness of it. These gloves feature an eyelet pattern that coils around the wrist and palm and finishes coyly wrapped around the index finger. The gloves can be worn on either hand, but spiral in opposite directions.
Size Small: 4" = 22 sts by 32 rows in stocking stitch on size 6 needles
Size Medium: 4" = 20 sts by 30 rows in stocking stitch on size 7 needles
Note: yarns shown have been knit on smaller needles than usual to get a denser fabric suitable for gloves. If substituting yarn, hoose a yarn that normally knits around 5 sts per inch for size small or 4.5 sts per inch for size medium.
