Basic Skills Necessary:

Pattern Description:

Featuring my Happy Stitch motif, this is the ultimate warm mitten. Although not a quick knit, this makes an excellent carry-around project for the ardent knitter once the pattern is established. The interconnected two-layer fabric is made with a basic double-knitting technique.

Gauge:

The Medium size is based on a gauge of 6 pairs x 7 rows per inch achieved on 2.5 mm/US# 1-2 needles. To make a larger or smaller size, adjust your needle/yarn combination.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Materials:

  • 2.5 mm dpns or circular needle
  • 75-100 grams main colour yarn

  • A few yards of two contrasting similar-weight yarns

Suggested yarn:

550 yards of Fingering weight
