Pattern Description:

Graciella is a shallow crescent that can be worn as a scarf or small shawl. It is worked from the bottom up beginning with a border of lace scallops and diamonds with nupps. The body is worked in short rows in Stockinette stitch. A top border of small diamonds completes the shawl.

Designer note: I am a loose knitter, so please check your gauge before beginning this project. It may be necessary to go up 1 or 2 needle sizes.


18 sts and 32 rows = 4" in Stockinette stitch on smaller needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 50" wide and 10" long at center


  • US #5/ 3.75mm 32" circular needle
  • US #7/4.5 mm 32" circular needle
  • 350 yards laceweight yarn
  • 17 stitch markers
  • tapestry needle to weave in ends
