Inspired by the Gladiolus, whose rich
history spans from Africa through the
Mediterranean. The latin word means
sword and symbolizes strength and moral
integrity. The flower represents infatuation
and suggests that when received will
pierce the giver's heart with passion. I
suggest this as a cure to the "Curse of the
Boyfriend Sweater" since the hugs and
kisses (XOXO) branded into the crown
of the hat, would be detected by a knitter,
but could possibly go undetected by an
unassuming love interest. By branding the
wristlets with the same hugs and kisses
(XOXO) perhaps it can unite you together
with love.
