These stranded colourwork mittens have a Scandinavian thumb with gusset for a better fit, and a long, narrow cuff to fit inside your coat sleeves. (Directions for a shorter cuff are included.) The mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up, with the thumb stitches picked up and worked at the end. Use whichever method you prefer -- DPNs, Magic Loop, or 2 circular needles -- for working in the round. The pattern is charted only, with instructions for doing lifted increases and 2- stitch cables without a cable needle. It also includes a link to a video demonstrating the double start cast on used in the sample.
18 (16) sts = 2" in stranded colourwork in the round (Size is changed by altering gauge. For a good fit, you will need to do a gauge swatch)
