Pattern Description:

My nearly 5 year old granddaughter admired my fingerless gloves, so I decided to design a pair for her tiny hands and make them colorful. I decided she also needed legwarmers to go with the gloves that she could wear to either ballet class or gymnastics class.

I think any young lady would love wearing this set. I sewed the optional bows onto the ring fingers, which should help younger girls to put the gloves on the correct hands because there is a left and a right glove.

My preferred yarn for this project is Caron Simply Soft 100% acrylic. It can easily be found at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics. Although it is considered a worsted, it seems to be a light worsted and closer to a DK.

Gauge:

in stockinette st - 5.25 sts and 7.25 rounds = 1 inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

small legwarmers - 7.5 circumference, 13 inches length
large legwarmers - 8.25 circumference, 13 inches length
small gloves - 6.5 inch circumference, 5.75 inches length
large gloves - 6.5 inch circumference, 6 inches length

Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn - 5 colors - 75-100 yds each
U.S. Size 1 double pointed needles (5 needle set)
