Take your pick for your favorite geek. This pattern includes charts for chemistry, math, astronomy, computer, grammar, music, history, literature (Jane Austen), and medical geeks.
And let us not omit the knitter.
Make this pattern using Fair Isle. (This pattern assumes that you have knitted Fair Isle before. If you have not, try our Fair Isle Headband pattern first.)
If you use fairly sticky wool, there should not be any problem carrying long strands: They will eventually embed themselves into the headband. (Or you can catch the yarn occasionally as you go.) For superscripts and subscripts, use a little duplicate stitchor feel free to duplicate stitch it all.
5 stitches per inch.
