Basic Skills Necessary:
- Before tackling gloves, you should have some experience with knitting fingering weight yarn in the round - other than that, this is a rather easy glove pattern, since it's done in plain stocking stitch
Pattern Description:
Knitting gloves with fingers can be a bit of a challenge. To make it easy for you, these gloves are done in stocking stitch with a bit of garter stitch only - but nonetheless with a lot of effect due to the contrasting yarns and all the pointy bits!
This pattern provides detailed instructions with illustrations (7 pages).
Gauge:
30sts, 42 rows = 10x10cm / 4x4" in st st
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Women's M, for 19cm / 7 1/2" glove circumference just above thumb. Advice is given in pattern about changing the tension for slightly different sizes.
Materials:
- Fingering weight yarn, such as Regia 4-ply: 50g (210/200m) each in solid colour and in variegated colour
- 2.5mm long (or circular) needles for knitting flat
- 2.5mm set of five dpn's (or any other needles that knit to the right tension, and can be used for circular knitting)

Apart from the very few designs in which the two gloves/mittens are knitted exactly identical, my patterns always include instructions for both the right and the left hand glove/mitten - no struggle over creating a mirror image of the first glove! All the thinking has been done for you!
