The Front Porch Fern Lace Scarf was inspired by the relaxed lifestyle of the South. Sitting on a grand front porch, dotted with lacy ferns that gently move in the breeze under a large ceiling fan.
The garter stitch Fern Leaf Edging is balanced by the Delicate Leaf Lace pattern on the opposite edge and finished with a decorative bind-off. The two patterns are worked in different directions giving visual interest. The scarf is completely reversible so it looks beautiful no matter how you decide to wear it!
The Sweet Tea Scarf Collection is a wonderful gathering of patterns inspired by all the things I love about living in the South. Including grand front porches, lush trees and plants, summer rainstorms, misty spring mornings in the Smoky Mountains, rolling hills of fall color and sippin' sweet tea year-round. The scarves in this collection can be worn indoors or out and are equally at home with a t-shirt and jeans as a skirt or dress. They can be made using light wool sock yarn or try using fingering weight cotton. The Front Porch Fern Leaf Lace Scarf is the first scarf of the collection, more to come soon!!
Using sock/fingering weight yarn, size US 4 needles and garter stitch: 6 sts per inch and 10 rows per inch before blocking.
350 yards of Fingering weight

My passion is creating knitting patterns that I can share with other knitters. I love the coziness, texture and visual design of knitted fabric. If I could cover everything in the house with knitting I would, and I'm workin' on it! My husband and two teenage boys are wonderfully supportive of my knitting habit and thankfully don't mind living among lots of yarn balls and knitting books. Patterns for knitted lampshade covers, lovely throws, knitted pillow covers and of course knitted curtains are all in the works so check out my projects as I work on them and then my patterns shop to try them out yourself!
All the patterns I sell in my shop come with pattern support. Just send me an email (included in pattern) or post a comment and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have, I love to talk knitting:)
