Free Reindeer socks (recepie ONLY!)
Free Reindeer socks (recepie ONLY!)
Free Reindeer socks (recepie ONLY!)
Free Reindeer socks (recepie ONLY!)

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round
  • experiences in sock knitting are of advantage

Pattern Description:

This is just a little recepie for the reindeer socks.
As this was my first pattern ever...
I knitted them toe - up.
You can use the magic cast-on or the Turkish cast - on.

Heel and toe are not described but you can also knit the socks top down and do any heel you like and your favorite toe.

Please note. The 60 stitches version will only work out if you are a loose knitter. Otherwise they will become too tight.
For bigger sizes or if you are a tight knitter go up one needle size or add an additional deer in the pattern.

I recommend that you try the socks on as soon as possible. So you can see as soon as possible if they fit...

8 stitches and 9 rows = 1 inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Please note: tensions is important! If you pull too tight the socks will become too small!
  • Size 39 in the pattern (for slender feet), for bigger socks you might have to cast on more stitches

  • about 50 g of 4-ply sock yarn in two colors each (e.g. red and off-white)
  • double pointed needles 2.5 mm if you knit loosely , if you knit rather tight please go for 3.00 mm needles

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:
