Inspired by the textiles of the Italian Renaissance, the Firenze Cowl is a reversible, double-layer cowl in stranded colourwork. It uses an an original colourwork chart representing seaweed and waves, and a variation on a traditional colourwork pattern for the vines. The Firenze cowl is worked in the round from a provisional cast on, which is grafted to the end stitches in finishing. A matching mitten pattern is also available; both patterns can be made with 1x50g and 1x20g of each colour of the recommended yarn.

Elizabeth comes from a long line of fibre-obsessed women. She has recently taken up spinning, which fascinates her husband and confuses her cat.
A transplant from the wilds of Canada's west coast, Elizabeth is adjusting to life in the Dirty South with the help of her very Southern husband. She writes about her adventures in fibre at thecusserknits.com
