Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round
  • working two colors at once

Pattern Description:

This pair of short mitts is a perfect quick stranded project for fighting off the last of winter blues or powering through the beginning of autumn. Unleash your inner superhero on a daily basis!

The pattern included two full charts for the different right and left mitts. Two sizes allow these mitts to fit hands between 6" and 9". Different gauge and needle sizes determine the sizing.


Small size: 30 sts/ 34 rows = 4 inches in colorwork pattern

Large size: 28 sts/ 30 rows = 4 inches in colorwork pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Small, fits hands 6"-7.5" around
  • Large, fits hands 7.5"-9" around


  • Two contrasting colors of fingering weight wool, about 90yds MC and 70yds CC
  • Two sets of DPNs, either size US 1 and US 2 (for the small size) or size US 2 and US 3 (for the large size)

  • 2 stitch markers
  • scrap yarn
  • tapestry needle
