Pattern Description:

My shoulder pack is a fun approach to the traditional 2 strap backpack. The (6.5mm/US10.5) needle will cause all of your stitches to blend after felting your bag. Most felted bag patterns use size 13 or larger needles, leaving visible stitching. They also have you use two strands of yarn, which really prices up your costs. I use only 1 strand with my patterns. My felted bags are just as strong and have a very nice 'hand'. I have written VERY detailed step by step instructions for this pattern including a stitch guide and multiple photos for assembling the pack. Perfect for stripe lovers!
Before felting, this thing is BIG. You'll be amazed at how the felting process transforms it in the wash. (Check out the pic of me "wearing" the unfelted bag! For its size, it knits up quickly because a large portion of the body is made up of decreasing rows.. You start at the base and work your way up to the strap. The more rows you knit, the less stitches there are on the needles!

At the same time, I noticed a woman with a cute over sized bag and asked about it. When I found out how it was made, I thought, I can do that. And I did! Then all of my neighbors wanted one.

I ...
