This sweet little coin purse would make an ideal starter knit and felt project.
Claire gives very clear and detailed instructions not only for knitting this purse but also for felting both by hand and using a washing machine.
This pattern is a great way to use up small amount so of yarn - why not make a stripy purse?
You can use any DK or worsted weight felting yarn to make this purse. I use a single strand or wool, although interesting felt can be made by combining up to 3 strands of finer yarn such as 4 ply or sock/fingering wool.
To obtain a thick felt with no visible stitches ensure your yarn is 100% pure hand wash only wool.
Beware of "Super wash" it will not felt!!
Finer yarn will make more delicate felt and smaller purse, thicker yarn will make chunky felt and a larger purse.
Choose needles to give a loose knitted fabric.
