Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round on double pointed needles

Pattern Description:

This is the third beanie from my new ebook Tiny knits " Fair Isle baby socks and baby hats

It has a cute litte fawn on it, forest below and the sky with the sun above.

I gave it as a gift to a little newborn baby girl.
The beanie will fit babies 3 - 4 months and is a lovely gift and way to use up some lefover yarn.

I knitted it completely in 4-ply Acrylic yarn.
You can also use Merino or soft 4-ply sock yarn.

Knitting gauge: 6 stitches and 7 rows in 2 x 2 cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This hat fits size S (39 " 40 cm head cirumreference) /M (41 " 42 cm) /L(42 " 44 cm)


  • 4-ply Acrylic yarn (214 yards/50g)
  • Alternatively you can use 4-ply Merino yarn or 4-ply sock yarn
  • 8 g in dark green, 7 g in white, 7 g in brown, 5 g in light blue, 8 g in medium blue, 8 g in yellow

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 set of double pointed needles 3.00 mm (5, perferably 20 cm in length as it will be easier to knit with them) 1 tapestry needle to weave in the ends.

Suggested yarn:

214 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Buttinette Versailles but anything similar will do


green, off-white, brown, blue, light blue, yellow, brown
