Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, k2tg, p2tg, pick up and knit

Pattern Description:

A charming vintage inspired and wonderfully fluffy bonnet, embellished with ribbons or lace.

Easy enough for beginners and absolute perfection as a photography prop! Have fun using your favourite ribbons and laces as ties (but please never leave a baby alone with this hat on).

The Evie Bonnet was designed primarily because I wanted something ridiculously fluffy and decadent for the photographs I took of baby #6 as a newborn. Although I think this works best as a prop, it is also lovely as a "normal" hat, just maybe a little impractical.

5 stitches per 1 inch in garter stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Newborn to toddler sizes

  • 4.5mm 30cm circular needle, 4.5mm set of double point needles, 1 skeins Aslan Trends "Invernal" yarn
