Infant/Baby

Hat

Pattern Description:

Go find yourself some sock yarn that stripes, and knit up this fast and easy baby hat in a few hours.

It's easy, and it features a little bit of texture with the half-linen stitch. You'll find it interesting to knit (and will learn another way to use small scraps of yarn).

Now be prepared to hear the "Awwww."

Not critical, but about 5 1/2 to 6 stitches per inch in stockinette. (Are you really going to make a gauge swatch for a baby hat? I didn't think so.)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Infant up to about 2 years.

Materials:

  • U.S. sizes 3 (3.25 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm) 16" circular needles. Double pointed needles size 3, 4, or 5. (Size of double-points is not critical.)

  • Tapestry needle, stitch markers.

175 yards of Fingering weight
