Pattern Description:

I had a ball of Cocoon leftover after making a jumper, and wanted to make a hat for my friends baby girl for Christmas. All the other babies had a hat at some point from me, and I wanted to make something chunky but fun, that could be passed down if a little boy at a later stage! I picked up the needles and this just came out - it's fairly simple but it works nicely in this weight yarn I think.


16 sts and 23 rows per 4 in/10cm in stocking stitch, knit flat on 5.5mm (US 9) needles.

  • 1 115m/126yd 3.5oz/100g Ball Rowan Cocoon in Kiwi
  • 1 pair 4.5mm (US7) x 30cm circular needles
  • 1 pair 5.5mm (US9) x 30cm circular needles
  • 5 x 5.5mm (US9) dpns for decreasing

Suggested yarn:

126 yards of Chunky weight
