I am trying to get started on these leg warmers, but I am having trouble. I am using 16 in circular needles, trying to work in the round. My daughters are 5 & 3, so I am only casting on 60 stitches to make them a bit smaller. Unfortunately, I think the 16 in are too long because I'm stretching the stitches in order to knit. Do they make circular needles with smaller cables? Should I just use doubles pointed needles? I also tried the magic loop method but wasn't comfortable with it. Any help would be appreciated.
I always use needles that are a little longer and use a modified Magic Loop; I pull a loop of cable through about a couple of inches from then end of the left needle. I work to the loop, then pull a new one through. I hope this helps a little :)
Thank you! These are exactly what I've been looking for.
