Pattern Description:
The natural colors of the beautiful Bijou Basin Ranch really spoke to me and I knew I just had to design a piece that would really showcase them. I found this dual cable pattern in a Japanese Stitch dictionary and immediately knew it was the one!
The brim is worked first flat with the two colors. Then stitches are picked up around the edge and the body of the hat is worked in the round.
There is a matching fingerless glove pattern and hat pattern if you are interested in making it a set!
Gauge:
Gauge: 8 rows & 10 sts = 1” with size 5’s in Dual Cable pat st. 10 rows & 6 sts = 1” with size 4’s in St st after blocked.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Size: S (M, L) Finished Head Circumference: 20 (22, 24)”
Materials:
- Yarn: Bijou Spun “ Himalayan Trail”75/25 Yak/ Merino; 200 yards 183 m; 2 ounces 56 grams; CYCA size 2 sport 12-ply): dark brown, white, 1 (1, 1) hank each color.
- Needles: US 5/ 3.75mm, straights; US 4/3.5, 16” or shorter; five US 4/3.5, DPN’s; or size to obtain correct gauge
