Double Knot Cable Scarves

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, cables, lifted incs, decs, double dec

Pattern Description:

Cables undulate. Their curves are the epitome of the feminine shape, and are enticing to the eye!

Cables' curves beckon to be noticed, and how better to notice them than to not have anything else surrounding them.

This is the first of my shaped-cable designs, using a stitch pattern I long admired, but never used, waiting on Design Inspiration, so to create something special.

Though the shaping occurs on the wrong side rows, alleviating some of the right side row work, this stitch pattern is not one that can be knit in one's sleep.

Its beauty, though, is definitely worth the extra attention needed!

But, if you're not ready to tackle shaped cable edges, this pattern includes a straight-edged version, as well.

I knit these scarves in an 100% cashmere yarn, which I hand dyed, but it can certainly be knit using any soft, heavy worsted/aran weight yarn.

Knit this luscious scarf for yourself or as a gift for a very special friend. It will become one of your favorites!

I originally labelled this design as Experienced, however, I now think it is an Advanced Intermediate. If you can do cables, lifted increases and decreases, you can make this design.

The pattern has text and colorized symbol charts, for easier following.
