Pattern Description:

I developed this pattern as a good introduction to stranded colorwork knitting for people who don't want to dive right in with a sweater or do something fiddly and small-gauge.

It takes part of a skein of Noro Kureyon and part of a skein of Cascade 220. You can substitute with any other multicolor and solid yarn you like, the important point is that you have one of each.

The crocheted bottom edge is optional. Ideally, your multicolor yarn will have the solid color in it somewhere, making it "dissolve" into each other (and hence the pattern name).

Gauge:

Approximately 4 sts and 5 rounds to 1" / 2.5cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

One size fits most average adult heads 20-22"

Materials:

1 skein Noro Kureyon (100m/50gm, 100% wool) - MC
1 skein Cascade 220 yarn (220 yds/100gm, 100% wool) - I prefer "The Heathers" shades - CC
12" or 16" circular needle, US #8 (5mm) - you can also knit the entire hat on DPNs 4 DPNs , US #8 (5mm)
1 4mm (G) crochet hook (optional)
