Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in one round

Pattern Description:

I love all animals! And I love dogs! And I sure do love dachshunds!
And you will love this cute little fellow, too, wagging his tail and having this cute dachshund look.

The beanie has a two-colored (= corrugated) ribbing, followed by a dog paw border pattern, that surrounds the dachshunds.
There is also a little butterfly in front of the dachshund. As he isn(tm)t chasing it (or he might not have seen it by now ;-) he is a calm and cute little fellow.

Otherwise the beanie is plain colored. It can be made longer by adding additional one color rounds at the bottom and at the top before the decreases.

It is completely knitted with 4-ply sock yarn leftovers.

But you can also use Acrylic yarn or merino yarn of similar weight and thicker. For bigger heads go up one or two needle sizes and/or use thicker yarn or both.

It will look cute in other colors, too.

There are at most two colors in one round, so it's easier to knit than you think!

Enjoy and happy knitting!
