Pattern Description:

I wanted to design a cupcake hat that was simple enough that a beginner knitter who wanted to take the next step to knitting in the round could handle. This pattern is written in the toddler size with easy peasy instructions for up and down sizing for everyone from preemies to adults! It only requires the ability to knit and purl with a beginner knowledge of crochet for the trim. Now also including adult size instructions!

Materials:

Size 7 - 16" circular knitting needle
Size 5 double pointed knitting needles
1 skein Red Heart Soft Yarn for Frosting
1 skein Red Heart Soft Yarn for Cake
Small amount of Red or Cherry worsted weight yarn for Cherry
Small amount of Green for Cherry Stem
Size 7 double pointed knitting needles
Size F/5 to I/9 crochet hook depending on how big you want your "drip" (I used I/9)

Very cute hat. Easy to make. I have never used dpn before so it was a challenge. I had to finish the hat with the dpns but I crocheted the cherry. I will make another one for my grand daughter, this one is for her brother.
