Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit and purl
  • work in the round
  • decreases described in pattern
  • reading charts
  • cables and twisted stitches described in pattern

Pattern Description:

Twisted stitch cables and chalet style cuckoo clocks are associated with Austria. These white mittens bring to mind the snow covered alps and a really good mug of hot chocolate.

Construction Notes
After the ribbed cuff the stitches twist, split, crisscross, and rejoin before decreasing in elegant points. All cables are charted and some decreases are worked into the cables at the top. An afterthought thumb keeps the knitting across the palm simple.

I want to thank Chris Church for providing the technical editing.
