When I first saw an example of the knitted crosses, I was intrigued by their beauty and simplicity. I wanted to try them out to see what they could do. This simple scarf is primarily knits and purls. The Indian Cross rows make a nice detail in the stripe pattern. It looks complicated, but is easy to master. You can make the scarf from any weight yarn and size needle, depending on the look you want to achieve.
I really like the look of the pattern knitted in sock weight yarn on size 3 needles. It makes a very pretty accessory. Heavier weight yarn would be nice and warm.
Yarn arts have been a part of my life since my mom taught me to knit when I was 10. My house is full of sweaters, mittens, dish towels, dolls, bath mats, and other items I've knitted or crocheted. Loved ones stay warm with my hand-knitted socks, gloves, hats, and scarves. Many of them are my own designs. I love sharing my creations with other yarn artists.
