Pattern Description:

I fell in love with a design I saw using owls on a sweater.

I decided it would be fun to make a hat showing owls sitting in the owlery - maybe waiting for Hogwarts students to send letters.

Then I had the inspiration to make a hat with beads or buttons for the owls eyes, and a matching cowl with eye holes so that it can be buttoned onto the hat for storage or extra warmth over your ears.

Not crucial to the finished item

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size fits most - can be adjusted by using finer yarn and needles.

Materials:

  • 100g of double knitting yarn should be sufficient for hat and cowl

You Will Also Need:

  • 3.75mm needles - circular or double pointed (whatever you prefer for knitting in the round)
  • cable needle
  • 16 beads or buttons for eyes on hat
