Women, Men

Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit in the round
  • colorwork/stranded knitting

Pattern Description:

I like to knit for people. Lots of different people with different styles. This is a pattern to help you create a hat for the many different people you may knit for!

Included are four different charts that will work with both a beanie and slouch/beret. Essentially, you can make 8 different hats using this one recipe. Both hats use the same yarn, needle, and gauge. You choose which you're going to make and follow that side of the pattern. Increases and crown decreases are different for each, but the charts work for both. You can easily make the hat slouchier (sometimes guys like a slouchy, but fitted beanie) by knitting more rounds after the charts.

My mom taught me to crochet a granny square. I made a giant one and gave it to my cat. A few weeks later, I was on to reading patterns. A year later, I picked up some knitting needles. I've been knitting and crocheting my evenings away since.
