I had this hat I bought years ago. Although it was made out of cheap acrylic yarn it always has been my favorite.
Even after I started knitting and had made so many hats myself (and out of much nobler material) I always fell back to this store- bought, ratty, old hat because I just loved it's fit and style.
But after all this time and wear it finally gave up this winter and I just had to make one exactly like it, to replace my all time favorite hat!
With the help of the gorgeous Cocoon yarn from Rowan I made the impossible possible! I made an even better hat than my old one was since now I don't only love it's fit and style but also the softness and warmth of a fine merino & mohair blend!
I thought that I might share this pattern with you....
...you might be in need of a favorite hat replacement, too!
17 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in Stocking Stitch
126 yards of Bulky weight
I am quite taken by any combination of stripes and I love it when colour seems to give a whole new and unexpected shape to a project.
I am also very interested in everything related to seamless construction, not really because I hate seaming so much... it is just that knitting becomes much more interesting when it gets three-dimensional!
Like sculpting with yarn!!!
