Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic lace work
  • yarn overs
  • basic decreases

Pattern Description:

This gossamer neck warmer with two width options has a lace patterned center panel and is simultaneously edged with garter stitch diamonds. It is worked as one piece and very little finishing is required. The pattern is adaptable to many yarn weights. The length may be extended indefinitely by reserving sufficient yarn for the final triangle strip.

This project is also available as a kit from my website.

Swatch a repeat of the pattern to see what width and feel your yarn and needle combination produces. Tension the swatch slightly to gain an idea of the appearance and size of the fabric after blocking. Larger needles will produce a looser, drapier fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • variable, depending on yarn choice

  • Scarf: 280m/300yds, Stole: 840m/900yds ultra fine kid mohair or fingering weight wool. May also be worked in lace weight wool or cashmere yarns, with appropriately sized needles.
