Pattern Description:

This Christmas sock pattern includes three sizes for your family plus directions for a Christmas stocking! They are constructed in the round with Twisted Ribbing, two-color stranded patterns, an Afterthought (or Peasant) Heel, which is constructed after the rest of the sock is completed, in the same manner as the Wedge Toe. Kitchener Stitch finishes it off!

Gauge:

7 sts/inch for Small, Medium, or Large socks

6.5 sts/inch for Christmas stocking

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Circumference of sock leg: Small-7.25" (Medium- 8.5", Large-10", Christmas Stocking-12.25")

Materials:

  • Yarn: One skein each of Guernsey yarn or sport weight in red, white, and green, to make two socks of the Small, Medium, and Large sizes, one of the Christmas stocking. (245 yds/100 grams)
  • Needles: One set size 1 (or 2.25 mm) double point needles, or size to achieve gauge for Small, Medium, or Large socks; One 16" circular needle, size 2 (2.75 mm) and one set size 2 (2.75 mm) dp needles for the Christmas Stocking
