Pattern Description:

This was a custom design for one of my customers! I loved it so much, that when my church, All Holy Spirit Greek Orthodox Church of Omaha, Nebraska, asked for hats of all sizes for the needy, I couldn't resist!

These hats are not just for Christmas time! Change up the colors to wear all season long! Your fav team colors! Hogwarts goldenrod and maroon! Your school colors or a color to match a winter coat! Don't like the buttons? Crochet little circles, flowers or other embellishments! Five sizes to fit any age noggin!

Five sizes to fit noggin newborn to 3 years and up!

Gauge:

4 1/2 stitches to one inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Size: newborn (1-6 mos, 6-12 mos, 1-2 years, 3 years and up)

Materials:

  • Yarn: Caron Simply Soft medium weight (4) approx. 360 yards per skein. One in each color of red, green and white.
  • 16" circular needles, US size 7 or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Set of 4 double point needles (dpn) US size 7
  • Stitch marker
  • Sewing needle and white button thread
  • Scrap piece of cardboard 6" wide (for naughty nice hat)

You Will Also Need:

  • Buttons: * 7 or 8 oversized white buttons for Hat #1 and 7 or 8 for Hat #3 * 7 or 8 oversized red buttons for Hat #4
  • Ribbon: * 2 wide 2 yards long red satin ribbon for Hat #2 One spool 1/4 wide ribbon that reads ...naughty nice. I found mine at Michaels
