This cowl has a repeating checkerboard pattern with eyelets hidden in every other square.
The cowl is knit flat and will need to be sewn up with a tapestry needle in the final step.
The measurement of the finished piece is approximately 27" x 8".
The colorway used for the cowl in the photo is Willow Leaf from Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece. One skein of Cotton Fleece (215 yards) was used to make this cowl.
This hat is better known as A Checkered Past Cowl. For search purposes I decided to give it a more descriptive title.
4.5 stitches per 1 row per 1 inch in stockinette stitch

I've been knitting and crocheting for about 25 years now and learned these crafts as a small child from my grandmother. My hands haven't been idle since. In addition to designing knitting and crochet patterns I run the Etsy shop MelsBellsHats.
