Please Note: As of January 1, 2015 this pattern will no longer be available on Craftsy due to the new European Union taxation rules that are coming into effect regulating digital sales. Patterns will still be available through Ravelry.com (via LoveKnitting.com for EU customers). We sincerely apologize and regret that we will no longer be able to sell through this wonderful community.
This square-topped hat features a cable pattern front (matching the cable pattern for the Cridhe Irish Heartbeat children's sweater) and a broken rib pattern on the back. The rolled brim is super easy and creates a nice warm fit while a set of bobbing tassels finish off the corners.
Using a contrasting yarn to attach the tassels is a great way to add that little touch of colour to this hat - or make the tassels from bits of colourful yarn from your leftover stash.
The 4-row cable repeat makes this a quick knit.
Cable pattern is charted; written instructions for chart are also provided. Pattern is knit in the round.
20.5 sts and 26 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch

NOTICE: With the impending change to the European Union (EU) VAT (value added tax) rules coming into effect on January 1, 2015, that require taxes to be collected according to the Buyer's location, I have no option but to close my Craftsy store. The burden of registering, collecting and tracking tax rates and buyer locations for 28 different EU countries is just not feasible. I sincerely apologize to my loyal Craftsy followers - I really am sorry that I have no other choice. My patterns will remain available on Ravelry.com which has arranged to re-route EU sales to the nice folks at LoveKnitting.com which is VAT registered. Thank you everyone for your wonderful support! I will miss you. ~ Luise
