I designed this pattern with a wonderful and quite ancient Celtic cable pattern that I found and loved. After traveling in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland and visiting so many ancient sites I just had to wear something that represented this culture. What better than a pair of easy, fingerless gloves that I can share with anyone who knits. These make wonderful gifts!!

Customers will love this pattern because it is knitted on straight needles, not double pointed needles and is seamed at the end. Plus the fun of seeing the cables come to life as you knit is so satisfying.

Gauge:

4.5 to 5 stitches per inch using #7 needle

This pattern can be adapted to all yarns, just adjust the needle size

Materials:

yarn, cable needle, straight #7/#8 needles

Thank you for sharing this pattern, it was very easy to follow, even for someone like me who hasn't cable knitted for many years! Really pleased with the result and have had lots of requests to make them for others. Knitted up over a couple of nights.
